This month, please consider “Wearing Blue” in honor of the 1 in 10 children who are victims of sexual abuse by the time they are 18 years of age and the 500 children whom Sunflower House serves each year.
How does it work? It’s easy!
- Pick a week in April for your business or group to promote a Wear Blue opportunity
- Participants pay $5 per day to wear jeans, blue business attire or casual blue attire to work, school, dance class, church or during designated activities.
- Sunflower House will provide all of the materials necessary and do all of the leg-work. It’s totally EASY
- Then, ask each participant to pass the prevention by telling at least two other people about why he or she is wearing blue and ask them to get involved!
The money raised during your designated Wear Blue Week will help Sunflower House provide child abuse prevention programs in more than 170 schools in Johnson and Wyandotte counties this year. Over 16,000 children will learn to recognize, resist and report abuse through our education programs in 2017!
